Membership Requirements

New Membership

If you have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941, and were honorably discharged, or you are still serving active military duty honorably, you are eligible for membership with The American Legion.

1. Complete American Legion Membership Application.
   Provide a copy of your DD214 discharge.
2. Pay the current membership dues, (amount shown on application). Make checks payable to our Post, American Legion Post 39.
3. If the information is correct, membership will be approved, and a membership card will be presented to you, or card will be mailed to you at the address you provided.

Veterans applying for transfers from your current Post to our Post must submit the following:

1. Provide your CURRENT membership card from your previous Post. If your previous card is not available, and/or dues are not current, you will be required to submit new member documention and pay the current dues for your new Post. (American Legion Post 39).
2. Complete and sign an American Legion transfer request form. See Post Adjutant for the transfer form, or if you have any questions.
